Why this machine.
About this machine.
Innovative possibilities through moss and chain stitch with the ZSK K-head.
The control and drive concept makes ZSK chenille machines products with innovative power. These machines, built around the K-head, are designed for sophisticated moss and chain stitch embroidery. The head is a special embroidery head with a single embroidery needle, and the drive concept with four individual stepper motors per embroidery head allows individual variation of the main functional elements — needle, fabric presser, and thread layer. This is the basis for both high quality and productivity in moss and chain stitch embroidery.
Design diversity
The control system allows convenient, quick, and reproducible adjustment of the machine to various factors — embroidery thread, base material, and pattern. An automatic color changer for up to six colors and height-adjustable moss loops offer further design versatility.
Capabilities of the ZSK-K embroidery head
- Fine chain stitch embroidery
- Moss embroidery with high loop density
- Moss embroidery and chain stitch for framing
- Moss / chain stitch embroidery combined with a sequin device
Combination of embroidery types
Combining embroidery types within one design opens up new possibilities — creating surprisingly fresh embroidery designs. All machines in the special series can also be equipped with a sequin unit, further expanding the already innovative possibilities of these special machines.
The H-Series combines a ZSK-K embroidery head with standard embroidery heads for multi-color embroidery, producing extraordinary motifs. The combination of K, W, and standard embroidery heads opens up almost unlimited possibilities for multi-coloured embroidery.
How the K-head works
Principle of the K-head
- 1-thread system with hook needle
- Thread changer under the machine table
Moss embroidery
Moss embroidery is most comparable to crocheting. Moss embroidery machines are constructed differently than traditional embroidery machines, but use a similar stitching technique. Moss embroidery is created using a single-thread system: the needle passes through the backing material and pulls the thread out from under the needle, plate-side up. Then, a rotating motion of the needle creates a loop on top of the backing material. The repetition of this pattern creates a dense, moss-like surface.
- The hook of the needle points against the embroidery direction, in the direction of seam formation.
- Loop formation builds on the surface of the textile to create a three-dimensional structure.
Chain stitch embroidery
Like moss stitch, chain stitch embroidery is produced with a K-head, which also uses a single-thread system. Unlike moss stitch embroidery, the hook of the needle points in the direction of the stitching — and thus against the seam formation. Chain stitch embroidery is often used to frame a moss embroidery area.
- The hook of the needle points in the direction of the embroidery, opposite to the direction of seam formation.
- A continuous sequence of nested stitches forms a chain.
